Borrowing from the musical form, Fugue refers to the way a theme returns in altered variations over time. Here, the recurring theme is the self-image, printed, transformed, reintroduced into the landscape, and encountered again in a new state. Each return carries traces of what came before, revealing identity not as something fixed, but continually composed through repetition and change.

Self-portraits printed on newsprint are altered, placed within natural landscapes, and re-photographed, allowing each image to briefly exist within the living world before becoming an image again. Fugue reflects on identity as something continually shaped through repetition, material, and place. What remains is not a fixed portrait, but a trace of presence, movement, and the ongoing dialogue between the human and the natural.
